Victor, also known as Vic, grew up in North West Baltimore. After graduating from Douglass High School, he went into the military serving in three tours of combat. OIF 1 OIF 2 in Iraq and also served in Afghanistan. Vic then went to Shaw University in Raleigh, N.C, then later served 27 years in the Marine Corps before medically retiring with the rank of Master Gunnery Sergeant. In 2016, he returned to Baltimore and later moved to Oliver in 2016.
Vic came into the community looking to contribute to the growth of the community. He has helped plant trees on his block and is always helping his neighbors with whatever their needs are. He donated the blue lights for the trees on his block, and also assisted with hanging the café lights on his block. Back in 2020 when we were installing pavers at the Bethel Playscape at the pergola, being the great neighbor that he is, he offered us burgers and something cold to drink while we worked.
Vic is working on hosting movie nights at the Bethel Playscape on Bethel Street in the spring. If you see Vic out and about in Oliver doing some of his awesome community work, give him a holler and say, "Hey neighbor!"
