On Sunday, July 20, 2025, Knox Presbyterian Church celebrated their 95th Anniversary. It was a beautiful ceremony that comprised of the Dance Ministry performing, the pouring of libations, candle lighting, wonderful singing and a vibrant sermon by Rev. Dr. Ronnie A. Hankins. The theme of the celebration was very appropriately titled "Generations", highlighting the many generations that Knox Church has nutured. Attendees were asked to raise their hand if they were part of the church in the 1930's, 40's, 50's, 60's, 70's, up through to the present. Surprisingly, there was someone who raised their hand in every decade!

Reverend Dr. Hankins spoke of the birth of Knox Presbyterian Church which started in June, 1930. His sermon spoke primarily of the years past and of all the dynamic conversations and interactions among past and present members of the church. His message concluded with "whether the bird lives or the bird dies, it's future is in your hands"... speaking of the generation's duty to preserve the life and existence of the church.

Knox Presbyterian Church is a cherished and integral part of the Oliver Community. They are truly an active member of the community being there eagerly to provide space and support for our community whenever requested.

Among the many recognized attendees of the ceremony were Bernard Harris Elementary School, The Community Group, The Master Barbers of Baltimore, The Interfaith Partners for the Chesapeake, Historic Oliver Community Association, Govans, BUILD, and more. Councilman Jermaine Jones presented a citation to the church on behalf of Baltimore City. Knox also received a citation from Governor Wes Moore.

Knox encouraged attendees to visit their beautiful memorial and pollinator garden on the rear side of the church. It recognizes and honors many of the past and present members on the brick pavers that line the garden.

There is also a stunning mural that frames the garden and seamlessly ties everything together.
